Our Logo

We embrace our brand logo so we always place it where it can be seen.

The Össur Logo

The Össur logo is the general logo of the company and shall be used worldwide. The Ö sign and the name refer to Össur Kristinsson, the amputee and entrepreneur who founded the company in 1971. The Össur logo is a symbol of the company and must be used consistently in accordance with the rules set out in this manual.

Logo with Tagline

The tagline, Life Without Limitations, is the company’s corporate slogan. The logo should always be used with the tagline in promotional material. In some cases the tagline can be omitted. Although the tagline is always written in all caps as part of the logo, when written in body copy, it is written in mixed caps as follows: Life Without Limitations. The logo with tagline can only be used in the following four variations.

Logo without Tagline

The Össur logo without tagline can be used in specific cases.

- If the tagline cannot be printed at its minimum size
- If legibility is an issue
- If manufacturing techniques do not allow the level of detail needed

Incorrect logo usage

It is important to use the Össur logo according to our guidelines to ensure consistency and brand recognition.

The Össur logo can not be altered or distorted it in any way. Changes, no matter how small, weaken our logo’s protectability and impact and detract from the consistent image we want to project.

Clear space around the logo

The clear space rule applies to margins and content touching the logo, such as: text, busy part of picture, icons and other graphical elements. To calculate the minimum area of clear space around the logo you should use the guidelines illustrated here.

The Scala Sans typeface is our primary corporate font and should be the default font used in all Össur marketing material, apart from digital marketing material where Open Sans is more often used.

Scala Sans Italic should primarily be used for quotations.

We use Open Sans exclusively for or web and digital content.

Imagery is a vital part of most Össur marketing material. Lifestyle photos should reinforce the Össur brand. The aim is to have real product users appear in images, that can convey the product characteristics and act as true ambassadors.

Our photography style is colorful, vibrant and natural. We focus on displaying our subjects in their own environment doing daily activity creating a personal connection with the audience in a motivated method.
